Methodology & data

We help with one travel decision: which destination fits my travel month and my desired climate? To do that we condense historical climate data into understandable scores — transparent and traceable.

Data sources

Air climate (temperature, humidity, wind, rain, sunshine) comes from NASA POWER long-term monthly means; sea-surface temperature from NOAA OISST (30-year monthly climatology). Where a value is missing, it stays open — we do not invent numbers.

Important: climate values are averages, not a weather forecast. Actual weather may differ.

The climate score

For each month we compute four understandable scores (0 to 100): Beach, City break, Active and Family. Each combines the relevant factors — for the beach score, warm days, a warm sea, little rain and plenty of sun. The overall score is a weighted mix of the four.

Every recommendation names two positive reasons and at most one caveat, so the rating stays transparent.

What we deliberately avoid

  • no weather or storm forecast
  • no invented values for missing data
  • no safety, visa or medical advice
  • no thousands of thin pages with only swapped numbers
